DAOM CEU and PDA

Revised 8/24/2018

The DAOM Program at Emperor’s College is a CEU provider with the California Acupuncture Board (CAB) (CEP-47).  At this time the DAOM is NOT a PDA provider with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

The California Acupuncture Board (CAB) and the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) regularly update their continuing education (CE) policies. While some of the DAOM courses are currently approved for CE credit by the CAB which are accepted as PDAs by NCCAOM, Emperor’s College cannot make any guarantee of which DAOM Courses are registered as CEU.  We endevor to register as many DAOM courses as possible as CEU.

NCCAOM PDA and Recertification

At this time the DAOM is NOT a PDA provider with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). However, according to the NCCAOM Recertification Handbook (as of the March 2018 Edition, page 22) the NCCAOM accepts “Coursework in a core competency subject that is approved by a State acupuncture regulatory board” and “Coursework completed by a Diplomate enrolled in an Acupuncture or Oriental Medicine post-graduate program (e.g., DAOM) accredited or in candidacy status by ACAOM.”.

The DAOM Office advises DAOM students renewing to contact the NCCAOM directly (http://www.nccaom.org/about-us/contact-us/), and they can answer any questions regarding this process.  Please visit http://www.nccaom.org/diplomates/diplomate-resources/diplomate-forms/ to view the NCCAOM Recertification Handbook which goes in depth into how California CEU and your DAOM Courses can be applied towards recertification.

Please visit http://www.nccaom.org/diplomates/certification-renewal/recertification-process-for-active-diplomate/ to begin the renewal process.

Accessing your CEU Certificates

Your CEU Certificates can be accessed on your ASAP Connected LMS Student Page.  This is the same system we use for taking attendance using a barcode scanner system and also for CEU purposes.  Your certificates are saved as PDF in your profile.

Please follow this link (https://emperorscollege.asapconnected.com/?org=4679) to go to the LMS site to create your account.  Follow the steps below for a step-by-step process.

  1. My Account where you’ll find for info.  Please keep this updated.
  2. Student Documents will be where you’ll find CE Certificates for courses that are registered as CE and that you’ve attended.  PLEASE DO NOT DELETE YOUR CERTIFICATES.  This will make it difficult to find you certificates in the future.  You should download your CE Certificates for your records per state regulation (minimum 4 years).
